Taktshang Palphug Monastery

Perched at a height of 3120 m on the precipitous cliff Paro, Taktshang Palphug Monastery is one of the most famous Cliffside Monasteries in Bhutan. Situated in the upper valley of Paro, Taktshang is stands for 'The Tiger's Nest'. This opulent monastery is considered to be the most iconic landmark in Bhutan. It was built in the year of 1692 around Taktsang Sange Samdup cave. The pristine temple is the most attractive tourist destination in Paro among the travelers visiting Bhutan.

Punakha Dzong

Punakha Dzong is the most beautiful Dzong in the country and most significant in the Bhutanese history. It is the second oldest Dzong as well as one of the majestic and famous structures in the country. It is one of the top three sights in Bhutan, majestically standing on an island between the confluence of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu Rivers.

Chele La

Located at an elevation of 3988m, Chele La Pass is one of the highest motorable points in the country. It is a mountain pass located in the western region of Paro valley. The picturesque Pass is famous for serving the panoramic sight of snow-capped Himalayan mountain range like Mt. Chomolhari. Mt. Chmolhari is located at an altitude of 7329m is also known as ‘Mountain of Goddess’ which is a most sacred peak in Bhutan. This serene ambience is one of the must-visit destinations in Bhutan.

Buddha Dordenma

The gigantic statue of Buddha measures in at a height of 51.5 m, making it one of the largest statues of Lord Buddha all over the world. This massive statue is made of solid bronze and is glided in gold. There are 125000 smaller Buddha statues have been installed with the Buddha Dordenma statue. The throne in which Buddha sits upon is a large meditation hall. The gigantic statue of Buddha allures large amount of tourists from all over the world.

Jigme Dorji National Park

Covering over proximately 4316 sq km, Jigme Dorji Park is the second highest largest preserve in Bhutan. Located in the North- Western part of the country, the natural park is counted as one of the richest in terms of biological diversity and oldest national park in the country. The park is the home to numerous globally endangered species of flora and fauna like Snow leopard, tiger, Asiatic wild dog, Himalayan deer and many more. It is also preserved a distinct culture of layap, and other nomadic community.


How to Reach Bhutan

By Air : Paro International Airport is the one and only International Airport. The other domestic Airport includes Gelephu airport in south Bhutan.

By Rail : It is one of the best ways to reach Bhutan. There are three border gates from where you can enter Bhutan. Phuentsholing is 16 km away from Hasimara railway station and 150 km away from Siliguri. Samdrup jongkar is 150 km away from Guwahati. You can take your own car or hire Bhutan taxi and Bus is also an option for you.

By Road : Hasimara is the nearest railway station to reach Jaigaon and Phuentsholing. From there you can follow the roadway.
